Is it a dead leaf? Or is it a lizard?

If you don't look carefully, you will certainly think that it is a dead leaf in the rustling autumn wind. But it is actually a lively lizard. Its disguise technology is so clever that it reaches the point of being mistaken for real, looking no different from a piece of dead leaf. Lying on the branch, this satanic leaf-tailed gecko perfectly blends with the environment, and it's really not that easy to identify its curled body among the leaves.

Compared with the dark-colored leaves under it, the lizard's body color is light brown. Move your eyes to the right side of the picture, and you will see, its tea-brown tail gradually tapers, and its body is spiral-shaped. On the left side of the picture, you can see the lizard's head and left arm and the left leg under its body.

This photo was taken in Dasybe Mantadia National Park on the island of Madagascar. The satanic leaf-tailed gecko can grow up to 9 cm, living in the slightly east-central part of this island. This kind of lizard can vividly imitate dry leaves and curl its entire body like a curled leaf by using its own leaf-like tail.
