China Radio International, September 26th: The UK has invented a solar-powered bicycle that is driven by sunlight. This bicycle can reduce the fatigue of the rider and has no environmental impact, making it an environmentally friendly concept vehicle.

According to British media reports on the 25th, this bright yellow solar-powered bicycle looks similar to ordinary bicycles; however, it is equipped with a sunshade device that can receive solar energy. When the user pedals the bicycle, the sunshade converts the received sunlight into energy stored in the bicycle's battery. This battery powers the electronic engine near the rear wheel of the bicycle, propelling it forward.

It is understood that the maximum speed of this bicycle is 15 miles per hour. Additionally, this solar-powered bicycle can also reduce the resistance encountered when riding uphill. According to Miliyevik, the designer of this solar-powered bicycle, "The bike I designed is purely eco-friendly and does not cause any damage to the ecological environment." Miliyevik stated that the engine of this bicycle can be charged under clear weather conditions even if the bicycle is not being ridden; if the weather is not good, the rider can use alternating current to charge the battery.

Although this bicycle is still in the concept stage, Miliyevik hopes that if manufacturers are interested, they can mass-produce it. "This bicycle looks like a regular electric bicycle. There is a sunshade on the outside of the bicycle to facilitate the large-scale reception of sunlight. During the day, when the bicycle is not in use, it can be placed in the sun for charging so that it can be used later with sufficient power."

It is understood that during the night, there is a small battery on the bicycle that can last for several hours. To save energy, the engine can be turned off while descending steep slopes. Additionally, to make it convenient for riders to operate this bicycle and ensure their comfort, Miliyevik designed the handlebars on either side of the seat instead of placing them at the front as in regular bicycles. Due to the presence of the sunshade, one can leisurely ride through the rain without worrying about getting wet. (Wen Tian) (Source: China Radio International)
