When blackberry began operations in 1999, it was characterized by a strong execution and smart technology. People buy BlackBerrys either because they need them or because they want them to send emails, count and make calls. The maker of the blackberry, Research in Motion (RIM), reported only 25, 000 users in its first year. But since then, its popularity has skyrocketed.

In September 2005, RIM reported 3.65 million subscribers.
