At the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates gave the opening speech. It was his eleventh speech at CES and possibly his last.

By the middle of this year, which is July, Gates will step down from the daily management of Microsoft to focus on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This will be the first time he has stepped away from the day-to-day operations of the company since founding it at the age of 17.

Gates said, "I don't know how I will spend my last day at Microsoft, so I asked some friends to help me prepare for this day. Together, we made a short video, please enjoy it."

Friends who participated in the video include NBC news anchor Brian Williams, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, famous rapper Jay-Z, U2 lead singer Bono, renowned director Steven Spielberg, Hollywood superstar George Clooney, famous TV host Jon Stewart, two leading Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, former US Vice President Al Gore, and Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey.
