Will Wikipedia become a development platform in the future?

The rate of growth in content on Wikipedia is slowing and the number of active editors, already small, is declining, with Jimmy Wales calling on editors to censor more and more content, further hampering growth. While Wikipedia's decline in fresh content doesn't mean its death, Wikipedia has a vast database of structures that are a treasure trove yet to be discovered.
