It's no longer exclusive to high-end devices! Nokia has recently released the Nokia Camera Beta app and pushed it out to all Lumia WP8 models (previously only available for PureView Lumia models).
The Nokia Camera combines the features of both Pro Camera and Smart Camera applications, providing functionalities such as fast motion and night mode. It supports full manual mode, allowing precise control over parameters like shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. The app is very powerful and has been available in the Windows Phone Store since October this year.
Previously, Nokia Camera was exclusively available for Nokia high-end phones — the PureView series, including Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928, and Lumia 1020. However, the latest beta version will support the entire range of Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices, meaning that models such as Lumia 520, Lumia 521, Lumia 620, Lumia 625, Lumia 720, Lumia 810, Lumia 820, and Lumia 822 can also download the Nokia Camera Beta app and set it as the default camera application on their phones.
Nokia stated that since Nokia Camera Beta is still in the testing phase, its performance may not be entirely stable, and users might encounter various issues during use. Users can provide feedback through Nokia Betalabs, and all problems will be resolved in the official version.
Moreover, it is reported that after the Lumia Black update is pushed out, Nokia Camera Beta will support two new features: RAW file (DNG) support for Lumia 1020 and 1520, as well as a shooting function directly from the lock screen.
