Valentine's Day, also known as St. Valentine's Day. Originated in ancient Rome, held on February 14 every year, has become a favorite festival of young people in Europe and the United States. There are differing accounts as to the origin of the name of St. Valentine's Day. Some say it is to commemorate the Christian martyr named Valentine, who resisted the persecution of Christians by the Roman rulers, was arrested and imprisoned, and was sentenced to death on February 14, 270 AD, before the execution, Valentine had written a letter to the warden's daughter, indicating his honest heart and a piece of feelings for her. Since then, Christianity has designated February 14 as "Valentine's Day."
