KNOPPIX is a bootable Live system running on CD/DVD, consisting of a representative range of GNU/Linux software, integrated automatic hardware detection, support for a wide range of graphics, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices, and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used as a desktop Linux system, an educational CD, an emergency system, or as a commercial software demonstration platform that does not need to be installed on a hard drive.
