Ms. Dewey, Microsoft's sexy lady

More than a month ago, I came across news about the live search engine Ms. Dewey (played by Janina Gavankar), but at that time, I didn't pay much attention to this flashy thing. It wasn't until I learned that Ms. Dewey was Microsoft's secret weapon against Searchmash (Google's experimental search engine) that it caught my interest.

After logging in, you first have to wait for Ms. Dewey to make her grand entrance, and after several seconds, you can enjoy Ms. Dewey's powerful singing voice (I regret not muting the volume; PS: the opening remarks change each time). Then, she will prompt you to enter your search query in the box below. I tried searching "google beats microsoft," and after a long wait (compared to Searchmash), Ms. Dewey finally delivered the search results, with the first one being "Microsoft finally beats google" (obviously favoring Microsoft). As I was pondering the search results, Ms. Dewey began showcasing her strengths: first tapping on the screen with her fingers making "ding ding ding" sounds, then asking questions like "Hello, is anyone there?" The noise was so loud that it even attracted my boss.

When my boss entered and saw Ms. Dewey on the screen, she immediately asked, "What is this woman doing here?" After learning that this was Microsoft's new generation of search engines, she seemed very concerned and asked, "Is there a handsome guy version?" (Wow!). I guess I'll stick to using plain old Google/Searchmash!
