The 2013 (tenth) "World's 500 Most Influential Brands" ranking list, exclusively compiled by the World Brand Lab, was revealed in New York, USA on December 17. Last year's Google continued to retain its crown as champion and was evaluated as this year's top brand of the top 500; Apple reversed its declining brand image, rising from last year's fourth place to this year's runner-up; Amazon also leaped into third place due to the popularization of e-commerce globally and its innovative services.
Notably, among the top ten brands in this year's ranking of the world's top 500 brands, six are technology brands, while only four are non-technology brands: Coca-Cola, General Electric (GE), McDonald's, and ExxonMobil.
This year, a total of 25 brands from mainland China made the list, with CCTV, State Grid, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and China Mobile entering the top 100. Xinhua News Agency and China Railway Construction Corporation made their first appearance on the list this year.
