On June 16, Zhou Mao, Vice President of China Domain Name Network, confirmed to DoNews that the company will deploy independent IPs for all virtual host users, and it is expected to be completed before the Olympics.

Zhou Mao stated that the company had started providing independent IPs for virtual host users two months ago, and currently about 70% has been completed. It is expected that all provisions will be finished before the Olympics.

The reporter learned that originally, virtual host users shared one IP address among multiple websites. If one of them violated relevant regulations (such as being involved in pornography, gambling, or drugs) and was shut down, other websites on the same server would also be affected. An independent IP can avoid this issue and is beneficial for SEO, making it easier for websites to be indexed by search engines.
