Douban is a website that I have always admired. It has rich and healthy content, strong user interactivity, and a simple yet innovative interface. It provides members with a platform to showcase themselves and interact with like-minded individuals through books, movies, music, and travel. Whether mainstream or non-mainstream, Douban allows an individual to feel "no longer alone."
Today, while browsing "Douban Services" unintentionally, I came across the option of "Douban Collection Show Code Generator." Then I started tinkering with the "About Me" section on my blog, integrating the JS code provided by Douban Show. Indeed, it turned out to be more intuitive and richer in content compared to the default or self-written "About Me." The display method can be customized via the code, and it's generally more appropriate to place it in the sidebar or the "About" section.
Of course, there are still some areas for improvement in the Douban Show generator. The following features (issues) are what I personally hope to see improved and enhanced:
- Add "Places I've Been"
- Change the display category selection to a multi-select method for more personalized customization.
- Allow content-based selection (for example, under the music category, you can customize selections such as classical, rock, or other categories).
- When hovering with the mouse, add information like the author and recommendation level (the display of recommendation levels can be fixed within the random selection mode range).
- Add text-only and image-text combined displays instead of just image displays.
- Add options or code generators for selecting friends, groups, and local events.
- Consider using RSS feeds as an alternative.
