Yesterday, Beijing Mozilla Network Technology Co., Ltd. announced that Firefox has established a partnership with Baidu, and Baidu search engine will be built into all Chinese versions of Firefox.

It is understood that the Chinese version of Firefox has already built-in Baidu search. This formal partnership will make the existing cooperation more explicit, and Baidu will also provide more support for the promotion of Firefox in China.

Before formally cooperating with Baidu, Firefox had deep cooperation with Internet giants such as Google and Yahoo. Especially Google, which not only used its powerful Adsense platform to promote Firefox, but also injected a large amount of funds into the Mozilla Foundation every year, making it the main source of income for Firefox.

Previously, Gong Li, Chairman and CEO of Mozilla Network, publicly stated that the relationship with Google would not affect Firefox's cooperation with other companies, and Mozilla Network has started to contact many local companies in China. Regarding this cooperation, Gong Li also said: "Mozilla Network has always adhered to an open concept, committed to providing users on the Internet with diversified online browsing choices. The Firefox browser has a 20% market share globally, and its personalized and customized characteristics are deeply loved by a wide range of Internet users. The combination of the Firefox browser and the Baidu search engine is the beginning of our efforts to provide diversified services for Chinese Internet users. In the future, the Firefox browser will bring everyone more optional services."

It is understood that the significance of this cooperation is not only about content, but more importantly, financial support. By embedding partner tools into Firefox, Mozilla Network can obtain corresponding income. Previously, Mozilla Network has relied on support from headquarters, but Gong Li hopes to lead Mozilla Network to achieve self-sufficiency as soon as possible. This cooperation is just the beginning, Mozilla Network will continue to develop local partners, and the company's future revenue will mainly come from them. However, Firefox currently has no plans to change the order of the built-in search engines. After signing with Baidu, Google will still be the default search engine. Users need to manually select Baidu from the drop-down menu of the search box to directly use Baidu search here.
