Open-source projects rely on community cooperation. Successful open-source projects all have a group of active individuals and companies that contribute code, write documentation, and test new features. Unfortunately, contributing and submitting code is not always easy due to different projects using different bug tracking systems, version control systems, and review systems. The maintainers of the packages may also discourage code contributors because they are unable to promptly process all submitted patches in a timely manner.
