The Windows Live family has a new addition: Windows Live Gallery. As I mentioned earlier, this site is an Apps resource with lots of Gadgets. Gadgets originally had a centralized site, Microsoft Gadgets, similar to the Moz Foundation's free addons, which promoted voluntary research, use, and publication of works by users.
