HP recently launched a TouchSmart app development guide for third-party developers to help anyone looking to create apps for TouchSmart touch-screen computers quickly build their own.

HP has built a developer community specifically for the TouchSmart and provides a TouchSmart interactive development environment for developers. Developers can share and upload their development experiences on the site. Under the community's promotion strategy, top developers in the community can be sponsored by HP to attend CES 2009 and demonstrate their software for free in the HP showroom.

It is reported that in order for the TouchSmart to support third-party applications, the TouchSmart software needs to be updated to the latest version. The upgrade is available free of charge on HP's website. It already includes two applications developed by third-party developers, Proxure's KeepSync software and Freehand's Solero Music browser.
