Google Translate adds 11 new languages

Google Translate has added 11 new languages: Catalan (Spain), Filipino, Hebrew, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. Now, Google's machine translation service supports up to 35 languages, allowing you to choose any combination of these 35 languages to translate text.

In most cases, Google uses English as an intermediary language, so when you translate text from Indonesian to Vietnamese, the Google translator will first translate the text into English, then translate the English result into Vietnamese. Therefore, if one of the language conversions you are performing is in English, the results will be relatively more accurate.

As Microsoft has said, automatic translation can only help you understand the gist of a foreign text, but if you want a smooth and accurate translation, you should seek the help of professional translators. At least for now, machine translation services cannot replace the work of professional translators.
