Still, a software engineer at Google says that the trend in the number of spammers is flattening and may even decline somewhat over the next few years.
Google is unwilling to disclose specific data, but through the Gmail system, Google claims that there has been a decrease in the trend of spam over the past year. This might suggest that some spammers have been discouraged by Google's anti-spam technology.
Other experts do not agree with Google's perspective, pointing out that the number of spammers continues to grow. The apparent reduction in spam can only be attributed to advancements in anti-spam technology.
