Russian manufacturer Yota today launched the Android smartphone YotaPhone with an e-ink screen, and the most attractive feature is undoubtedly its dual-screen design on the front and back. How exactly does a dual-screen phone work? Foreign media has already brought real-life images of this device.

According to reports, the 720p LCD screen on the front of the YotaPhone can be used like a normal smartphone, while the 360×640 e-ink screen on the back functions more like an electronic photo album, capable of displaying photos, maps, and other information. When reading long e-books, the e-ink screen on the back is not only more convenient but also more energy-efficient.

In terms of hardware, the device features two 4.3-inch screens, powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core processor, with 2GB of RAM and 32/64GB storage space. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel main camera and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera, supports LTE networks, weighs 140g, and measures 133.6×67×9.99mm. The device runs on Android 4.2.2.

Currently, this Yota dual-screen phone is available for pre-order in Russia at a price of approximately RMB 3660, and it will also be launched in several countries and regions including Germany, France, and Austria.
