According to foreign media reports, Lee Young-hee, the executive vice president of Samsung's mobile business, confirmed in an interview with The Korea Times that Samsung would release its first smartwatch, Galaxy Gear, on September 4 in Berlin, Germany. The product will run on the Android operating system and will not be equipped with a flexible screen.
In the interview, Lee Young-hee stated that the Galaxy Gear would feature a "non-flexible display". The release time is two days before the opening of IFA, at an event hosted by Samsung itself. The target user group for this product is young people who like fashion.
