Two American computer science professors: Java is harmful to students

Two retired professors from the Computer Science Department of New York University in the United States published an article with the title "Computer Science Education: Where Are Tomorrow’s Software Engineers Coming From?" In the article, they strongly criticized New York University and other universities for failing to teach students pure programming languages such as C, C++, Lisp, and ADA.

"The skills that students gain from current educational practices are insufficient to meet the demands of today's software industry (especially in terms of security and safety-related purposes). More unfortunately, by aligning too closely with external industry needs, we have trained many software engineers who are easily replaceable."
