One equals two - spring battery | Good life

Designed by four Chinese designers, the ONE = TWO Spring Battery is a winner of this year’s Red Dot Concept Design Awards. Based on the principle that used batteries always have some residual power left in them but cannot be connected together for continued use because of size issues, the spring battery was created as a way to fully exhaust a battery’s charge and extend its life.

Its principle of use is that when a battery has been used to a certain extent, the user can press two spring batteries together so they overlap, connecting the residual charge of two used batteries and allowing them to “burn out completely before dying.” The concept looks good, but it’s probably all theory, which is why there’s almost nothing but criticism in the source article. Yeah, what I mean is: since this is a design by Chinese people, instead of letting foreigners criticize it, let’s turn it around and criticize it ourselves. Alright, Action!
