Balance House, it's really hanging | Good Life

The Balancing Barn is a building located in Suffolk, England, which is a collaboration between architect Mole and the architectural firm MVRDV. This 30-meter long house astonishingly sits on the edge of a hillside, with half of it built on the slope and the other half suspended over it. Although it appears precarious, it is actually very stable, to the point that there is even a lovingly placed swing under the suspended part of the house. The secret to its balance lies in the reflective and heat-insulating stainless steel that wraps around the exterior of the house: the weight of the stainless steel on the hillside side is much greater than that of the suspended part.
