Located in San Alfonso del Mar, Algarobo Province, Chile, the pool is more than 1,000 yards (914.4 meters) long, covers a total area of 20 acres (80,000 square meters, the size of 11 football fields), and its deepest point is 115 feet (35.05 meters). The entire pool can hold 66 million gallons (nearly 250,000 cubic meters) of water. The Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized the water park in the coastal city of Algaropo in southern Chile as the world's largest swimming pool on January 21.
