The Highest-Paying Jobs That Are Most Promising In 2014

CareerBuilder.com and Economic Modeling Specialists Intl. (EMSI) have identified jobs that grew at least 7 percent from 2010 to 2013, are projected to continue growing in 2014 and pay at least $22 per hour. "Besides higher pay levels and steady growth rates, the common theme with these jobs is talent shortages," Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder and co-author of The Talent Equation, told Business Insider. "Competition for skilled workers in specialized areas like information technology and health care has become fierce."

The list was released Thursday and reveals which jobs are expected to grow the fastest and pay the highest this year:

1.Software developers, applications and systems software

2.Marketing research analysts and marketing specialists
