Steve McCurry is an American documentary photographer. He was born in 1950 and joined Magnum Photos in 1986. He became world-renowned for his photograph "Afghan Girl," and has received countless photography awards. McCurry has a strong interest in exotic cultures, loves adventure, and favors color in his work but rarely uses flash. He pursues the most authentic colors in his images. Having traveled to many places and experienced the different customs and beliefs of various countries, he believes that children reflect the most genuine and pure side of society, and they are also happy to cooperate, showcasing their natural side. McCurry once said: "For me, the most important quality of a piece of work lies in its independence—a single photograph can convey an entire story."
