These amazing pictures come from the work of Fabian Oefner, this Zurich photographer who has found a unique way to make dyes explode. Oefner said: "What you see here is a fleeting structure that only lasts for a second, where fragments of dye look like this, and then they start merging together and disappear." The "liquid gems" he created are by bursting balloons covered with dye and capturing the scene at the moment of explosion.
Creating these photos requires carefully applying layers of water and dye mixtures on the balloons. Out of 100 photos, only 5 can achieve such an effect, and the creation process is not without its challenges. He said: "I remember one balloon burst right in front of me when I was about to apply the last layer of dye. That made me look like a walking piece of art." Previously, Oefner used a drill to create stunning textile dye snapshots, and he claims he will use gravity for his next creation. He said: "I can guarantee, those works will be exceptionally astonishing."
