In the city, let alone through the haze, it is a rare to catch a glimpse of blurry stars. Even these few stars are often ignored by people rushing about. As for the beautiful scenery of "twinkling little stars all over the sky", it seems like a pipe dream from a song lyric. So when we see this star-filled sky captured by landscape photographer Thomas · Zimmer on the North Sea island of Sylt in Germany, many people's first reaction may be: This can't be real!
When describing how he captured this scene, Thomas told us that he found it by chance while preparing to leave the beach and walk back up the dune. He realized that the magnificent Milky Way was right above the stairs, as if connecting the steps on the dune to the sky. At the time, for miles along the beach there was only Thomas. So he set his camera on a tripod with a timer, then ran up the steps, and the camera finally captured this dreamlike, stunning image (the light comes from a flashlight).
