Recently, a "salt rush" has been going on in China. From the capital to a small southern town like my hometown, rumors about salt are spreading everywhere.
It is reported that almost every province in China produces salt. However, according to the type, the output of land salt from inland salt lakes, salt wells and salt mines is much higher than that of sea salt distilled from seawater. More than 70% of Chinese household salt consumption is mainly land salt. The salt reserves in Qinghai Province alone are enough for the whole world to use for 1000 years. Located in the western hinterland of the motherland, Qinghai Province has more than 100 large and small salt lakes. The salt in just one larger salt lake is enough for the whole world to use for several decades or even a hundred years. Therefore, the salt lake resources are the largest resource in Qinghai, ranking first in China. Thus, the rumor about salt is baseless.
The following pictures depict the beautiful Chaka Salt Lake. This smallest salt lake in Qinghai Province can support the salt consumption of the whole country for 75 years. After appreciating the following works, the idea of rushing for salt would have long been gone.
