Light and shadow painting

Messy pipes and neatly arranged letters, these two seemingly unrelated things are actually closely connected. Because the letters on the wall are the "babies" born from the shadows cast by the pipes in front. This unique and impossible painting method is created by Azerbaijani artist Rashad Alakbarov and is called shadow art.

Rashad is therefore also known as a shadow master; what seems like a chaotic arrangement is essentially an orderly combination - only through very careful and ingenious arrangement can various corresponding projection works be created. The projected landscape painting of the following work named Rainbow Plane (Fly to Baku) is particularly impressive. This work is currently being exhibited at the Depree Gallery in London.
